Raptors even series
Toronto picked up a 111-82 win in Game 2 of the series on Tuesday after letting Game 1 get away from them. The Raptors come into tonight 59-25 on the season, 26-15 on the road, 39-45 against the spread and 44-37-3 with the over.
The Raptors were very efficient on offense in Game 2, committing just seven turnovers while assisting on 25 of their 42 baskets. They shot 42 of 87 from the field and also hit 11 3-pointers in the victory. Kawhi Leonard led was nearly unstoppable, putting up 37 points on 15 of 22 shooting. Kyle Lowry bounced back from his scoreless Game 1 by putting up 22 points and seven assists in Game 2. Pascal Siakam added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Magic end win streak
Orlando had its five-game win and cover streak come to an end in the loss to the Raptors on Tuesday night. They have played their last four games on the road. Orlando is 43-41 on the season, 23-16 at home, 46-37-1 against the spread and 46-38 with the under.
The Magic went back to their offensive struggles in Game 2, as they had 17 turnovers while shooting 30-for-81 from the floor and 9-for-34 from the arc. They also were just 13 of 24 from the free-throw line. Aaron Gordon led the team with 20 points and five rebounds but Nikola Vucevic, the team’s leading scorer, had just six points and six rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Toronto
The Raptors are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight conference games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 conference quarterfinal games.
Orlando
The Magic are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games and 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games against Atlantic Division opponents.
Prediction:
The Magic are still a capable team, but their lack of offense really showed in Game 2. I think that will change tonight with their first home game of the series. If Orlando is going to get control of the series, tonight is their best chance. The Raptors should be a little over confident after their big Game-2 win, so Orlando may be able to jump on them early and stay competitive throughout. The Magic defense is still really strong and should step up its game after a poor showing on Tuesday. I expect The Toronto role players to step back a little tonight on the road.
