Per ESPN.com’s report, the Cavs are holding firm at an offer of five years and $80 million, with Thompson looking for a max deal of $94 million over that same five-year span. If the two sides can’t come to agreement on a deal by the end of the week, Thompson may sign the Cavs’ one-year qualifying offer of $6.9 million to become an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the 2015-16 NBA season.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Cavs are 5/2 to win the 2016 NBA Championship, which makes them the favorites to win next season’s title. The Spurs have the next best odds at 7/2 while the defending champion Warriors are 11/2.

In his four seasons with the Cavs, Thompson has averaged 10.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game over an average of 28.7 minutes.
