Jazz win third straight
Utah is coming off a 112-104 win at New York on Wednesday for a third straight win. The Jazz are 39-22 on the season, 18-13 on the road, 29-30-2 against the spread and 32-29 with the over.
The Jazz are putting up 111.5 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the arc. Defensively, Utah is giving up 108.2 points per game while opponents shoot 45.3 percent against them. Donovan Mitchell is leading Utah with 24.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Rudy Gobert is adding 15.4 points and 14.0 rebounds per contest.
Celtics win at Cleveland
Boston is coming off a 112-106 win at Cleveland on Wednesday. That snapped a two-game losing streak for the Celtics where they lost to the Rockets and Nets at home in OT. Boston is now 42-19 on the season, 23-7 at home, 38-21-2 against the spread and 32-29 with the under.
The Celtics are averaging 113.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Defensively, Boston is giving up 106.9 points per game while holding opponents to 44.1 percent shooting. Boston continues to be bothered by the injury bug. Gordon Hayward and Jaylen Brown are both out tonight. They combined for over 37 points, 12 rebounds and six assists per game. Jayson Tatum is leading the team with 23.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Kemba Walker is adding 21.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Utah
The Jazz have covered the spread in five straight as an underdog and they are 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 games following a win.
Boston
The Celtics are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine home games and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
Boston picked up a 114-103 win in Utah back on Feb. 26. While the Jazz have won three straight, those wins were against the Knicks, Cavs and Wizards. Today they face a Boston team that has been playing well for the most part despite having a different key piece missing for weeks. Tatum is playing at an elite level right now and the Celtics still have the tools to beat Utah tonight without Hayward and Brown. Boston is a gritty team that can dig deep and I don’t know that Utah can say the same. With the Celtics at home, I have to go with them to find a way to cover.
NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics -2.5
