Golden State Warriors DFS Notes
Klay Thompson shot 6-of-17 from the field for 16 points and added three rebounds, two assists and a block Thursday as the Warriors fell to the Mavericks. Thompson returned from a two-game absence due to illness, and his performance certainly looked sickly. In a rare instance of inefficiency, he posted the “Dillon Brooks Special” with more shot attempts than points. Thompson has been a top-90 per-game player this season, so there’s no need to worry about a subpar performance against a formidable defense.
Los Angeles Lakers DFS Notes
LeBron James finished with 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two triples and a block as the Lakers fell to the Clippers 132-111 on Thursday. The Lakers came into this one on a three-game skid, and the team wasn’t able to stop the bleeding Thursday. In three prior games post All-Star break, King James averaged 26.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.0 triples, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks, so Thursday’s showing was right on par with what he’s been doing lately. James has now lost seven straight to his former coach Tyronn Lue since Lue became head coach of the Clippers. Fantasy managers will continue to take the strong performances from James, but there’s got to be a nagging sense of dread that he’ll get shut down if losses continue to pile up.
Warriors vs. Lakers NBA Betting Prediction
With both teams struggling ATS, the better bet is to go with the total. The over is 6-1-1 in the Warriors’ last eight games overall, is 6-0-1 in their last seven games following an ATS loss and is 5-1-1 in their last seven games when favored. On the other side, the over is 6-2 in the Lakers’ last eight games as an underdog and has hit the last four times L.A. has played on a Saturday.
