Golden State Warriors DFS Spin
The biggest injury story ahead of this game is the status of Warriors small forward Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins suffered a left costal cartilage fracture in his ribs in the second half of Game 5 and he’s officially listed as questionable for Friday’s game. The main issue for him will be pain management and the chance of re-injury. Wiggins was great in Golden State’s Game 5 win as he posted 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Warriors’121-106 victory.
Golden State’s Draymond Green was also tremendous in their Game 5 win. Green recorded a series-high 20 points and snagged 10 rebounds as he helped Golden State keep their season alive in Game 5. Green would be worth a look in DFS due to his extensive playoff elimination game experience.
Los Angeles Lakers DFS Spin
Lakers power forward Anthony Davis had to leave Game 5 in the second half after he took a forearm to the temple. Davis appears to have avoided a concussion and it’s been reported that he will be available to play in Game 6 barring any setbacks. Davis is averaging 21.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game in the playoffs thus far.
Lakers shooting guard Austin Reaves could have some DFS value on Friday. Reaves is averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game in 11 playoff contests this season. He poured in 21 points in L.A.’s Game 4 win at home and he seems like a good bet to score at least 10 points on Friday.
Warriors vs. Lakers NBA Betting Trends
Golden State is 17-38-1 ATS in their last 56 road games.
Golden State is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS win.
Los Angeles is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games.
Los Angeles is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 second-round playoff games.
Warriors vs. Lakers NBA Prediction
It cannot be overstated how significant the Andrew Wiggins injury is. He is Golden State’s third-leading scorer and one of their best wing defenders. He came back for the playoffs because of how important he is to the Warriors. The injury he’s dealing with (left costal cartilage fracture in the ribs) will likely affect his ability to defend the post and may decrease his aggressiveness on offense. That has to be taken into account when handicapping this game.
There’s also the fact that the Lakers might just be better. L.A. won Games 3 and 4 at home by an average of 16.5 points per game. The Lakers are also 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games against a team with a road winning percentage under .400. Los Angeles has also bounced back well this season as they are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following an outright loss of more than 10 points. I don’t think Golden State will be able to muster enough offensive firepower to win this game and keep their season alive, so I’ll lay the points with the Lakers at home on Friday.
