Stephen Curry caught fire during the third quarter of Saturday’s win over the Rockets, and he finished the game with a line of 30 points (9-of-23 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), six rebounds, five assists, one steal and seven 3-pointers in 30 minutes. The Rockets did a solid job of defending Curry during the first half. But they had no answers for the sharpshooter during the third, as he personally outscored Houston by a 23-12 margin. On the wrong end of a 28-0 run just two nights ago, the Warriors dropped a 24-0 run on the Rockets with Curry scoring 12 of those points. “That’s one of the most remarkable things about Steph. He can be in the midst of what looks like his worst game of the entire season, and then just explode,” Steve Kerr said after the win. After putting together the most prolific 3-point shooting month in NBA history in April (96 3-pointers), Curry is off to a good start in May. He was one of two Warriors to score at least 20, with Andrew Wiggins (20/2/2/0/2 with two 3-pointers in 34 minutes) being the other.

Lonzo Ball hit 10-of-21 shots and tied his career high with eight 3-pointers on his way to a career-high 33 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and three steals in Saturday’s 140-136 overtime win over the Timberwolves. Ball joins Ryan Anderson as the only other Pelican to hit eight 3-pointers in multiple games. Ball is absolutely cooking with grease right now and if your fantasy team survived when Ball missed the second half of March with his hip injury, he just might be carrying it right now. He’ll look to keep it going against the Warriors on Monday.
