Warriors vs. Thunder Pick
Are the Golden State Warriors going to waltz into the home arena of the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight and pick up a win against the spread? Game time is 8PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Warriors are listed as a 5.5-point favorite on the spread line. The over-under is 221 points.
Golden State enters with a 13-4 record and 7-10 ATS after a 118-111 victory at the Nets. Oklahoma City is 7-9 overall and 7-9 ATS following a 114-107 loss at the Pelicans. The Warriors went 4-0 straight up and 4-0 ATS in four meetings last season. The under went 3-1.
In the win at Brooklyn, Steph Curry led the way with a season-high 39 points along with 11 rebounds and seven assists. Klay Thompson tallied 23 points and 10 boards. Omri Casspi had 12 points and eight rebounds, while Andre Iguodala accounted for 12 points along with five boards and three assists off the bench. The Warriors played with Kevin Durant as he rested a sprained ankle, but he is probably to play tonight against his former team. Golden State led 64-42 at halftime.
Russell Westbrook accounted for 22 points, 16 rebounds, 12 assists and three steals in the loss at New Orleans. Paul George had 26 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. Carmelo Anthony added 19 points, nine boards and four steals. The Thunder were outscored 27-21 in the fourth quarter.
Golden State is 7-0 ATS in the last seven meetings. The over is 11-5 in the last 16 meetings.
Matchups between these two teams will always be emotional as long as Durant is on the Warriors. He’ll be roundly booed in OKC once again, which is sad considering how he was once beloved there for many years. It did not impact the performance of Golden State in meetings last year and it likely won’t this time around either. Durant looks like he’ll give it a go and this spread seems a little low given how these two teams are trending. Look for the Warriors to pull away in the second half.
