Wizards fall at home
Washington is coming off a 127-116 loss at home to Utah for a second loss in three games. The Wizards are 13-26 on the season, 5-15 on the road, 19-19-1 against the spread and 22-16-1 with the over.
The Wizards are one of the stronger offenses in the league this season, but they also have the league’s worst defense. Washington puts up 114.8 points per game while shooting 45.9 percent from the field. Defensively, the Wizards are allowing 119.9 points per game while opponents shoot 48.7 percent against them. Bradley Beal is leading Washington with 27.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Davis Bertans is adding 15.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists per contest.
Bulls can’t get on track
Chicago ended a 6-game losing streak to the Pistons last Saturday, but they went back to losing on Monday in a 113-101 loss at Boston. The Bulls are now 14-27 on the season, 7-14 at home, 19-21-1 against the spread and 21-20 with the under.
The Bulls are putting up 105.7 points per game on offense this season while shooting 43.4 percent from the field. Defensively, the Bulls are giving up just 107.8 points per game while opponents shoot 46 percent against them. Chicago is still without center Wendell Carter Jr. due to injury. He averages a near double-double per game. Zach LaVine is leading the team with 24.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest, while Lauri Markkanen is averaging 15.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Washington
The Wizards are 8-20 against the spread in their last 28 games playing on 2 days of rest and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games following a double-digit loss at home.
Chicago
The Bulls are just 18-38 against the spread in their last 56 home games, but 5-2 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games.
Prediction:
The Bulls grabbed an OT win at Washington back on Dec. 18. I think the Bulls can get the job done tonight as well. Washington isn’t quite putting up the offensive numbers it needs to in order to win games right now and their defense clearly isn’t going to be able to pick up the loss of offensive slack. Chicago is a team that can defend somewhat, especially at home. The Bulls should also see an increase in offense against this Washington defense. Though the Bulls have struggled, I think getting a game with Washington will help cure those ales.
NBA Prediction: Chicago Bulls -4.5
