Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Wizards are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Bulls. The total, meanwhile, sits at 226.5 points and as of this writing, 57% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Wizards to cover the point spread.
Washington Wizards Fantasy Spin
Jabari Parker flirted with a triple-double during in his Wizards’ debut on Friday, tallying seven points, 11 rebounds, nine dimes, three steals and one block over 23 minutes. Parker came in the game and immediately drained a triple in his first 30 seconds of floor time, and he showed some nice hustle in battling for the boards, leading his team in rebounding. He had some really nice passes, as he put his playmaking skills on display, and as an added bonus, he didn’t commit a single turnover. Keeping the turnovers down will be key to his 9-cat value, but he’s in a great spot to produce and should see quality minutes playing for this banged-up Wizards team. He’s worth a look in most leagues.
Chicago Bulls Fantasy Spin
Otto Porter had a super-efficient debut in a Bulls uniform against the Nets on Friday, making 7-of-9 from the field for 18 points with four rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers. That’s good for a 100.0 eFG% thanks to a 5-of-5 start. The Bulls have been anti-trey this year with a 27th-ranked 9.5 treys per game, so the addition of Otto should help in that regard. He did take a shot to his hip in the second half and was able to return, but that could be something to watch given his injury history. Otto’s owners couldn’t ask for much more with this start and hopefully he can stay healthy.
NBA Betting Trends
Washington
The Wizards are a perfect 4-0 against the spread in their last four games when playing the second game of a back-to-back.
Chicago
The Bulls are winless at the betting window in their last six home games.
Prediction
I like the Bulls in this spot with Porter squaring off against his former team. The underdog is 22-6 against the spread in the last 28 meetings between these two teams while the Wizards failed to cover the spread in five of their previous six games versus Chicago. Washington has been a terrible bet on the road as well, failing to cover in 39 of its last 57 games away from its home court. The Wizards are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, too.
Saturday NBA Prediction: Chicago Bulls +2.5
