NBA Slam-Dunk Contest Odds
Zach LaVine of the Timberwolves is currently sitting as the favorite to win the 2016 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, LaVine is a -250 favorite over Will Barton of the Nuggets (who is 4/1 to win the contest), Aaron Gordon of the Magic (9/2), and Andre Drummond of the Pistons (8/1). The NBA Slam-Dunk Contest will take place on Saturday, February 13 at 7:00PM ET on TNT.
LaVine is the current defending champion of the Slam-Dunk Contest after winning over Victor Oladipo, Mason Plumlee and Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2015. Previous winners were John Wall in 2014, Terrence Ross in 2013, Jeremy Evans in 2012 and Blake Griffin in 2011.
There’s not much of an advantage for bettors when it comes to betting the Slam-Dunk Contest although if you’re wondering if there have been repeat winners, the answer is yes. Nate Robinson won the event in 2009 and 2010, while Jason Richardson won in 2002 and 2003. Michael Jordan was the only other back-to-back winner, however, after pulling off the feat in 187 and 1988.
