Can Cavs cover after loss?
The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a loss and the Boston Celtics are coming off a win. What does that mean for tonight’s 7:30PM ET contest?
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Cavaliers are favored at home tonight, as they are getting odds of -7 points against the Celtics. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 211 points.
Cleveland (35-13) saw a four-game win streak snapped on Wednesday with a 106-97 loss at Charlotte. The Cavaliers obviously don’t lose too often, but when they do, they haven’t necessarily bounced back too well. The Cavs are just 5-7 against the spread this season after a loss and since 2014, Cleveland is 18-28 ATS after a loss. That is the worst cover percentage in the Eastern Conference since that time.
Conversely, Boston (29-22) is coming off a 102-95 win over the Pistons last week for the team’s seventh win in eight games. The Celtics have been great following a win, going 16-11-1 against the spread this season and 43-24-1 ATS since 2014. The record since 2014 is the best of any team in the NBA.
