West Conference Odds
The 2010 NBA Finals Playoffs are set to kick off and the Los Angeles Lakers find themselves heavy favorites to win the Western Conference. Let’s take a look at the rest of the conference odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Lakers a heavy 2/3 favorite to win the Western Conference. Following them in their odds are the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets at 6/1,t he Utah Jazz at 8/1 and the San Antonio Spurs are 9/1.
After compiling a 57-25 record, the Lakers hold the top seed in the Western Conference and will play the Oklahoma City Thunder (who has 20/1 odds to win the Western Conference) in the opening round. The Thunder finished with a 50-32 record, the same as the Portland Trail Blazers (25/1) and Spurs.
Speaking of the Spurs, even though they have the seventh seed and play the Mavericks in the opening round, they represent a ton of value at 9/1 odds. They’re a veteran team that has won six of their last 10 games and appear to be picking up steam. As long as Tony Parker is healthy, the Spurs aren’t going to be an easy out for Dallas.
The Lakers were 33-46-3 overall against the spread this season and just 16-23-2 ATS at home. The Thunder faired better this season, compiling a 48-34 overall ATS record and a 26-15 ATS record on the road. Denver was 35-41-6 ATS this season, while the Spurs finished 44-37-1 and the Mavericks were 37-44-1.
