DENVER (AP) -Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony is doubtful for Denver’s game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night due to a sprained left ankle.
Anthony was hurt Monday night after he came down on Kobe Bryant’s right foot during the game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Nuggets said X-rays taken after the game were negative.
Anthony, who hasn’t missed a game this season, had minimal swelling Tuesday and some discomfort in the ankle.
The 23-year-old forward missed five games with a sprained left ankle – and another game with a sprained right ankle – during the 2004-05 season.
Anthony is the NBA’s fourth-leading scorer, averaging 25.5 points a game.
