YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -Byron Davis scored 19 points to lead four double-digit scorers as Youngstown State defeated Loyola of Chicago 71-61 on Saturday.
John Barber added 18 points, Jack Liles contributed 12 and Vystus Sulskis had 11.
The Penguins (6-7) saw an 18-point halftime lead vanish as Loyola (5-9) scored 23 of the first 28 points in the second half to tie the game at 47 midway through the period. But Youngstown State again pulled away as Davis drained a 3-pointer with 2:48 left to establish a seven point lead.
Down the stretch, the Penguins made seven of nine free-throws to preserve the win.
Tracy Robinson led three double-digit scores for Loyola with 19 points. J.R. Blount had 16 and Justin Cerasoli 14.
The Penguins shot 46.5 percent from the field, while Loyola shot 42.2 percent.
