LOS ANGELES (AP) -Clippers forward Paul Davis had season-ending surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn lateral meniscus in his right knee, the team said Friday.
The timetable for Davis’ return is expected to be six to eight months. He was injured in the second quarter of Los Angeles’ 102-89 loss at Dallas on Dec. 22.
The surgery was performed Thursday by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala. The Clippers said Davis will remain in Birmingham undergoing physical therapy until his return to Los Angeles next Friday.
Davis averaged 2.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 8.8 minutes in 22 games this season – his second with the team. He was a second-round draft pick in 2006.
