MILWAUKEE (AP) -Phoenix Suns forward Grant Hill was back in the starting lineup Tuesday night, less than two weeks after undergoing an appendectomy.
“He’ll start,” Suns coach Mike D’Antoni said before the Suns played the Milwaukee Bucks. “He’s ready to go. There’s no medical reason for him not to play. He could be a little tired.”
Hill had the surgery Jan. 9 and was expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks.
When Hill felt ill after arriving at the US Airways Center for the Suns’ morning shootaround that Wednesday, the team first thought he had the same flulike symptoms teammate Raja Bell recently had. But before the team played the Indiana Pacers that night, Hill was taken to see a physician who determined it was more serious. His appendix was removed a short while later at a nearby hospital.
Hill signed a two-year deal with the Suns in July and hoped to overcome seven injury-plagued years in Orlando, where he played in about a third of the Magic’s regular-season games.
He missed seven games after being injury free since coming to Phoenix, starting all 34 regular-season games and averaging 15.9 points.
