PHOENIX (AP) -New Orleans Hornets forward David West, the team’s second-leading scorer, missed a game for the first time this season Saturday night against the Phoenix Suns because of a bruised left hip.
West, averaging 19.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in 33 games, was injured Friday night during the Hornets’ 116-104 victory at Golden State, when he collided with the Warriors’ Stephen Jackson.
New Orleans coach Byron Scott said he hoped West would be able to play in the Hornets’ next game, at home Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.
