Hornets G Walker sits out game vs Cavs with sore knee

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker will miss Wednesday night’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a sore left knee.
According to Charlotte coach Steve Clifford, Walker’s knee problems developed during the Hornets’ road game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
”We’ll know more tomorrow,” Clifford said. ”He was really sore (Tuesday). He’s played a lot of minutes, obviously, and gotten a lot of attention. Hopefully, he’ll play by Friday. But there’s no guarantee. We’ll see tomorrow how he feels.”
Walker sat out practice Tuesday, Charlotte’s first since returning from a four-game road trip, and was listed as ”out” on the pregame injury report Wednesday. It will be the first game Walker has missed this season.
Walker leads the Hornets in scoring at 20.2 points per game and 5.0 assists.
