PHOENIX (AP) -Suns center Amare Stoudemire missed the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night because of a troublesome right knee.
The All-Star had arthroscopic surgery on the knee on Oct. 2.
Suns coach Mike D’Antoni said Stoudemire was day to day.
“I think he’s overworked,” D’Antoni said. “On Friday, he didn’t have his usual pop.”
That night, Stoudemire scored only seven points and grabbed just one rebound in 24 minutes in a 119-98 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Stoudemire averaged 20.4 points and 9.6 rebounds last season.
Saturday, Stoudemire sat out the Suns’ light workout.
Boris Diaw replaced Stoudemire in the starting lineup against the Cavaliers.
