MIAMI (AP) -Dwyane Wade scored 37 points, and that still wasn’t enough for the hapless Miami Heat.
Brandon Roy led a fourth-quarter comeback Friday night and the Portland Trail Blazers won 98-91 to extend the Heat’s losing streak to 12 games, which matches the third-longest in franchise history.
Roy finished with 24 points to help the Trail Blazers win for the ninth time after trailing at the start of the fourth quarter.
Wade tied his own franchise record by scoring 17 consecutive Heat points, and he set a team record for points in a third quarter with 20 to help Miami take a 76-69 lead to start the fourth quarter. But Wade scored only two points in the final period.
The Blazers regained sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division, a half-game ahead of Denver, and improved to 7-12 on the road. They’re 17-3 at home.
Travis Outlaw finished with 18 points for the Blazers, who made 25 of 31 free throws and had 10 more rebounds than the Heat.
Miami’s Shaquille O’Neal had 20 points and 11 rebounds in his second start after missing eight games with a hip injury. But the Heat’s longest losing streak since late 2001 continued. They last won on Dec. 22.
Kings 100, Pistons 93
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) – Ron Artest came off the bench night to score 18 points, including a key basket late in the game, and lift Sacramento Kings to a victory.
Artest, suspended 73 games after instigating a Nov. 2004 brawl here, made a 3-pointer with less than 4 minutes to go to give the Kings a cushion they’d never lose.
Chauncey Billups had 28 points and Richard Hamilton added 24 for the Pistons, who have lost two of their last three and dropped the season series to the Kings.
The Pistons were 7-for-21 from the floor in the second quarter, when Sacramento outscored them 33-19 to take a 56-48 halftime lead. A 10-2 run midway through the third quarter got Detroit back in the game.
Kevin Martin scored 24 points and Brad Miller added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Kings.

Al Jefferson had 27 points and 14 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who fell to 1-19 on the road. Rashad McCants added 19 points and Craig Smith 16.
One of the Timberwolves’ five victories this season came against the Suns, 100-93 at Minnesota on Dec. 8. The rematch, though, was not close.
Warriors 119, Bulls 111
CHICAGO (AP) – Baron Davis matched a career high with 40 points, hitting six 3-pointers, and Golden State used a strong finish to beat Chicago.

Ben Gordon led Chicago with 29 points and Andres Nocioni added 28.

BOSTON (AP) – Paul Pierce scored 14 of his 22 points in the third quarter to help Boston take the lead, and Ray Allen scored 10 of his 23 in the fourth when the Celtics pulled away.
Kevin Garnett had 11 points, eight assists and six rebounds in Boston’s second consecutive victory since their only losing streak of the season: a two-game skid – and three losses in four games – that has been the only blip for the best team in the league.
And speaking of the best team in the league …
Patriots defensive lineman Richard Seymour took in the game from courtside, two days before New England plays the San Diego Chargers in the AFC title game. He received a standing ovation during a second-half timeout when his picture appeared on the scoreboard along with the message: “Good Luck Pats. Beat the Chargers.”

Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler both had double-doubles, marking the 13th time they’ve done so in the same game this season. The Hornets have won all of those games.
Paul finished with 14 points and 13 assists and Chandler had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Emeka Okafor led Charlotte with 13 points.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Utah recovered from a humbling loss the night before by beating the Clippers.
Deron Williams scored 15 and Andrei Kirilenko added 13 points and seven assists for Utah.
All five Jazz starters scored in double figures and were resting on the bench with about 4 minutes left in the game with Utah comfortably ahead. The Jazz lost 120-109 at Denver on Thursday, letting a close game get away in the second half against their division rivals.

Joe Johnson had 25 points for the Hawks, who lost back-to-back games for the first time since a four-game slide between Dec. 29 and Jan. 5.
It was the first meeting between the teams since Hawks rookie Al Horford knocked Toronto guard T.J. Ford to the floor in a Dec. 11 game in Atlanta. Ford, who was taken off on a stretcher, suffered a stinger and has not played since.
Horford was booed whenever he touched the ball Friday.
Wizards 111, Knicks 98
WASHINGTON (AP) – Antawn Jamison scored 32 points, Caron Butler added 22 while stretching his made free-throw streak to an NBA season-high 54, and Washington snapped New York’s three-game winning streak.

Jamison shot 14-for-20, including a 6-for-7 start, while Butler was 9-for-20 on field goals and 4-for-4 at the foul line.
Quentin Richardson led New York with a season-high 21 points, but he only scored two in the second half. Jamal Crawford had 19 points.
