CLEVELAND (AP) -Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala scored 20 points apiece to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 92-86 victory over the slumping Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night.
After Damon Jones’ 3-pointer gave the Cavaliers a 75-74 lead with 7:57 to play, four points by Iguodala, including a 3, and baskets by Miller and Samuel Dalembert provided an 8-0 run that gave Philadelphia the lead for good. Iguolada later added a key three-point play.
Dalembert scored 16 for the 76ers, who have won five of six.
LeBron James, the NBA’s leading scorer, and Drew Gooden led Cleveland with 21 points apiece. The Cavaliers have lost eight of nine.
Knicks 94, Nets 86
NEW YORK (AP) – Eddy Curry scored 23 points, a night after hitting rock bottom during a scoring slump, and the Knicks snapped a five-game losing streak.
Jamal Crawford led New York with 32 points. Zach Randolph added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Knicks, who had fallen into a tie for last place in the Eastern Conference.
Vince Carter scored 32 points for the Nets, who lost for the fifth time in six games. They are 0-2 against the Knicks this season and fell to 19-3 against New York in the regular season with Jason Kidd in the lineup.
Grizzlies 123, Magic 119
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Rudy Gay scored a career-high 32 points and Juan Carlos Navarro added 25 to help Memphis snap a six-game losing streak.
Mike Miller scored 19 points for the Grizzlies, who shot 53 percent from the field, most of it from perimeter. Memphis hit 12 3-pointers, including two clutch ones from Navarro in the final 3 minutes.
Dwight Howard had 31 points and 20 rebounds for Orlando, which last at home for the third straight time. Hedo Turkoglu added 24 points and Jameer Nelson 18 for the Magic, who couldn’t protect a nine-point second half lead.
Wizards 92, Kings 79
WASHINGTON (AP) – DeShawn Stevenson had 19 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the short-handed Wizards.
Already without starting point guard Gilbert Arenas, recovering from left knee surgery last month, Washington announced earlier in day that backup Antonio Daniels would be out for the next two-to-four weeks due to a sprained MCL.
Rookie Nick Young made his first NBA start, but he was pulled after 5 minutes in favor of Roger Mason, who scored 13 points – 10 in the first half – to help the Wizards win their fourth straight.
Brendan Haywood had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Washington and Antawn Jamison had 16.
Brad Miller scored 21 points to lead Sacramento.
Hawks 93, Bobcats 84
ATLANTA (AP) – Joe Johnson scored 31 points, Marvin Williams had 20 and the Hawks handed Charlotte its eighth road loss in nine games.
Hawks sixth man Josh Childress (groin) and rookie point guard Acie Law (sore knee) were not in uniform. Josh Smith had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Anthony Johnson added 11 for Atlanta, which ended a two-game losing streak.
Gerald Wallace led Charlotte with 24 points. Raymond Felton had 15. Emeka Okafor had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Jason Richardson had 11.
Hawks backup forward Shelden Williams played only 2 minutes and did not score only hours after having his 2008 Chrysler stolen at gunpoint by two men. The suspects were arrested later Saturday by Douglasville police near Atlanta.
Pacers 106, Heat 103
MIAMI (AP) – Jamaal Tinsley scored 26 points, Jermaine O’Neal started a crucial fourth-quarter run with three straight baskets and Indiana extended its dominance of Miami.
Jermaine O’Neal finished with 24 points and Danny Granger added 16 for Indiana, which started the final period on a 14-4 run to take control and has now won 18 of the past 22 regular-season meetings with Miami.
Dwyane Wade finished with 24 points, but his potentially game-tying 3-pointer bounced off the rim as time expired. Udonis Haslem also scored 24 for Miami, which fell to 2-8 at home and 6-17 overall – the fourth-worst record through 23 games in franchise history.
Daequan Cook scored 14 points and Ricky Davis finished with 13 for the Heat. Shaquille O’Neal finished with 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting before fouling out.
Hornets 101, Suns 98
NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Chris Paul had 21 points and 10 assists, outplaying Steve Nash and lifting New Orleans over Phoenix.
Accurate perimeter shooting was the difference for the Hornets, who hit 12 3-pointers. Paul made three, the last putting New Orleans ahead for good midway through the fourth quarter after the Suns had erased a 16-point deficit to briefly take a lead of their own.
Morris Peterson also scored 21 for New Orleans, connecting on four of six 3-point attempts. Rasual Butler also hit four 3s for all of his 12 points. David West had 15 points and 11 rebound, and Tyson Chandler finished with 14 points and 18 rebounds.
Guarded tightly by an energetic Paul most of the night, Nash was effective but well short of his best, finishing with 12 points and seven assists. Leandro Barbosa scored 19 points for Phoenix, which has lost three of its last four games. Grant Hill and Raja Bell each scored 17, while Amare Stoudamire had 16 points.
Mavericks 96, Rockets 83
HOUSTON (AP) – Josh Howard scored 23 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 20 as Dallas won for the 10th time in the last 11 meetings with Houston.
Jerry Stackhouse had 17 points for the Mavs, who’ve won six straight meetings. That includes a 100-94 victory on Nov. 21, a game the Rockets led by 17 in the third quarter before the Mavs rallied.
Dallas won more conventionally this time, blowing open a close game with a 26-9 run bridging the third and fourth quarters. The Mavs shot 51 percent (36 of 71) against Houston’s defense, fourth-best in the NBA coming into the game.
Yao Ming had 28 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets, who’ve lost five of their last eight.
Tracy McGrady bruised his left knee on a drive in the first quarter and was affected the rest of the game. He scored 12 points on 5-for-18 shooting.
Spurs 102, Nuggets 91
SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Michael Finley and Fabricio Oberto each scored a season-high 21 points to lead the Spurs.
Oberto, who was 10-of-11 from the field, also grabbed 13 rebounds for the Spurs. Brent Barry scored 14 points and Manu Ginobili added 11. Tim Duncan had eight points in his return after missing four games with a sprained right ankle.
Tony Parker sat out his second straight game for the Spurs with a sprained left ankle.
Allen Iverson led the Nuggets with 30 points and Linas Kleiza had 16 points. Carmelo Anthony added 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Nuggets were without starter Kenyon Martin, who was suspended for one game after he was assessed a flagrant foul in the Nuggets’ win Wednesday over New Orleans.
Bucks 95 Timberwolves 92
MILWAUKE (AP) – Michael Redd scored 32 points and made two pressure free throws late to help Milwaukee hold off Minnesota.
Yi Jianlian, the sixth overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, had a career high 22 points and Mo Williams added 19 for Milwaukee which extended Minnesota’s losing streak to four games.
Craig Smith scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Al Jefferson had 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Timberwolves who have lost nine of the last 10 road games.
Trailing 84-74, Jefferson scored five points and Ryan Gomes hit a 3-pointer as Minnesota pulled to 84-82 with 1:41 to go. Yi answered with a 3-pointer that put the Bucks up by five.
Rashad McCants, who had 15 points, hit a 3-pointer before Redd made two free throws with 9.6 seconds left. Yi made two pressure free throws after Jefferson’s driving layup. McCant’s hit his last 3 for the final margin.
Jazz 96, SuperSonics 75
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Carlos Boozer had 21 points and 16 rebounds to help Utah snap a six-game skid.
Deron Williams added 18 points and 10 assists for the Jazz. Ronnie Brewer also had 18 points and Andrei Kirilenko scored 16.
Wally Szczerbiak scored 24 points for Seattle, which had won two straight.
The Sonics built a 10-point lead in the first quarter and stayed close for three quarters. The Jazz, however, put the game away by holding the Sonics to just one point in the first 3 minutes of the fourth. Kirilenko scored on an alley-oop layup assisted by Williams to give Utah an 85-69 lead with 6:20 remaining.
