Golden State beat Phoenix 129-114 on Monday for its sixth victory in seven games following an 0-6 start. … New York defeated Utah 113-109 to earn its second straight win after an eight-game skid. The Knicks shot 53 percent from the field. … Houston beat the Los Angeles Clippers 88-71 and have back-to-back wins following a six-game losing streak. The Rockets have beaten the Clippers four straight times at Staples Center.

Marko Jaric scored 21 points to help Minnesota (2-10) get its second victory of the season, 103-94 over New Orleans on Monday. The win was the Timberwolves’ first on the road this season. Jaric has scored in double figures in three straight games and has had at least 20 in his past two.

Dallas fell to Washington 110-98 on Monday but converted all 29 free-throw attempts for a club record, breaking the previous mark of 27 set in February 2002 against New Jersey.

Toronto forward Jorge Garbajosa plans to have more surgery on his left leg and ankle and will be out indefinitely. The 6-foot-9, 245-pounder broke a bone in his lower leg and dislocated his ankle while trying to block a shot in March. The injury ended his rookie season.
