Portland beat Miami 98-91 on Friday night to extend the Heat’s losing streak to 12 games, which matches the third-longest in franchise history. The Heat last won on Dec. 22, and their 8-30 record is the worst in the Eastern Conference.
ROAD WOES
Five Phoenix players scored 17 points or more Friday night in the Suns’ 115-95 rout of Minnesota, the Timberwolves’ 15th consecutive loss on the road. The Timberwolves fell to 1-19 on the road.

Antawn Jamison scored 32 points and stretched his free-throw streak to an NBA season-high 54 Friday night, leading the Washington Wizards to a 111-98 victory over New York.
SLUMPING
Memphis Grizzlies sent the Seattle SuperSonics to their ninth straight loss, 124-100 on Friday night. Seattle had not lost nine straight since early in the 1972-73 season.
STRONG IN DEFEAT
Dwyane Wade scored 37 points and set a team record for points in a third quarter with 20 but Miami lost to Portland 98-91 on Friday night.
