Caron Butler had 25 points and nine rebounds, Antawn Jamison added 23 points and eight rebounds, and Washington beat Dallas 102-84 Monday, giving the Mavericks their biggest loss of the season. The victory gave Washington its first season sweep of Dallas since 1996-97. The Wizards have won five of their past six games – including beating the Boston Celtics twice – to take hold of fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

Pacers forward Jermaine O’Neal called sitting out the season with a bruised left knee a “worst-case scenario” Monday and refused to put a timetable on his return. The Pacers said Saturday that O’Neal would miss at least two weeks. A six-time All-Star, O’Neal is averaging 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks this season, but he has missed eight games and barely practiced the past two or three weeks. Over the past 3 1/2 seasons, O’Neal has missed 90 games due to injuries, illnesses and suspensions.
