Utah became only the seventh team since 2001 to come back from a 2-0 deficit and win a seven-game series after its 103-99 victory over Houston on Saturday night. The Jazz are just the 19th visiting team to win in 97 Game 7s in playoff history.
ITS BEEN AWHILE
Detroit’s 95-69 win over Chicago in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals Saturday night was the first posteaeson meeting between the teams since 1991. The two teams have met five previous times in the playoffs, including four straight seasons (1988-91) with the Pistons winning the first three before Michael Jordan helped the Bulls break through in 1991 en route to their first of six titles.
STRONG IN DEFEAT
Houston’s Tracy McGrady scored 29 points and handed out 13 assists and Yao Ming added 29 points as the Rockets dropped a 103-99 decision to Utah in Game 7 of their Western Conference series on Saturday night. The Rockets haven’t won a playoff series since 1997.
