EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -New Jersey Nets rookie forward Josh Boone had surgery Wednesday to repair torn cartilage in his right knee.
The first-round draft pick from Connecticut played in 61 games, averaging 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds. The 23rd overall pick shot .579 (99-of-171) from the field. He missed the first month of the season because of shoulder surgery.
Nets president Rod Thorn said Boone is expected to be ready for training camp in October.
