Pelicans’ Davis cleared to play vs. Nets after concussion

NEW ORLEANS (AP) New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will play Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets after clearing the NBA’s concussion protocol,
Davis left the Pelicans’ 112-111 loss to Houston on Monday after his head collided with teammate Tyreke Evans’ elbow in the second quarter. He was sidelined for just one game, a nine-point win over Sacramento.
The fourth-year pro was named as a Western Conference All-Star reserve this week and is averaging 22.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.
Coach Alvin Gentry also said Evans will miss his second consecutive game with right knee tendonitis. Bryce Dejean-Jones will start in his place
