BOSTON (AP) -Ray Allen scored 21 points, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett both had double-doubles, and the Boston Celtics beat the Golden State Warriors 105-82 Wednesday night for their sixth straight home victory.
Boston improved to 9-1 overall and has won its six home games by an average of 22 points. Garnett had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Pierce added 19 points and 10 boards.
Golden State had its three-game winning streak snapped. The Warriors’ starters began the night averaging 85.6 points, but were held to 43. Leading scorer Baron Davis finished with 13 points on 3-of-13 shooting while recording only four assists.
Reserve Monta Ellis led the Warriors with 21 points, and Stephen Jackson had 15 points and five rebounds.
Spurs 128, Magic 110
SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Tony Parker scored a season-high 32 points, and San Antonio beat Orlando for its third straight victory.
The Spurs (10-2) improved their home record to 7-0, while the loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Magic, who had won their first seven road games.
Reserve Manu Ginobili had 27 points for the Spurs, while Tim Duncan had 20 points and 16 rebounds. Parker also had nine assists.
Dwight Howard had 34 points and 16 rebounds for the Magic. Former Spurs forward Hedo Turkoglu had 26 points for Orlando, and Jameer Nelson added 15 points and nine assists.
Pistons 98, Knicks 86
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) – Chauncey Billups had season highs with 25 points and 15 assists, directing Detroit over slumping New York.
New York has lost eight straight, the NBA’s longest losing streak this season and speculation is growing that coach Isiah Thomas’ job may be in jeopardy.
Detroit’s Antonio McDyess scored a season-high 20 points after missing three games with strained left shoulder. Tayshaun Prince had 13 points and Richard Hamilton added 12 points and eight assists for the Pistons, who have played just three home games this season and eight on the road.
Eddy Curry had 17 of his 26 points in the first half for the Knicks, but was scoreless in the third quarter when they needed him to keep the game close. Jamal Crawford scored 16 points and Zach Randolph had 13.
Cavaliers 97, Timberwolves 86
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – LeBron James had 45 points, eight rebounds and five assists to carry Cleveland over Minnesota.
Despite playing the second game of a back-to-back, James topped 40 points for the second time in the past three games and Drew Gooden added 17 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland.
Al Jefferson had 30 points and eight rebounds for Minnesota, which fell to 1-8.
Wizards 114, Bobcats 111, OT
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Caron Butler helped make up for the loss of leading scorer Gilbert Arenas at least for a night, scoring 39 points to lead Washington over Charlotte.
With the Wizards receiving the jolting news that their star will be out for about three months after Arenas underwent knee surgery earlier in the day, Butler scored seven points in overtime, including two free throws with 15.5 seconds left to give Washington a three-point lead.
Antawn Jamison had 27 points and 12 rebounds for Washington, which continued its turnaround from an 0-5 start amid the concern over Arenas’ left knee.
Raymond Felton had 27 points and 12 assists, Gerald Wallace scored 25 points and Emeka Okafor had 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Bobcats, who had their two-game winning streak snapped.
Mavericks 100, Rockets 94
HOUSTON (AP) – Devin Harris scored 22 points and converted a key three-point play in the closing minutes, and Dallas rallied from a double-digit deficit for the second straight game.
Dirk Nowitzki shook off a slow start to score 18 points and grab 14 rebounds for the Mavericks, who overcame a 24-point deficit to beat Toronto on Tuesday night.
Yao Ming had 30 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks for the Rockets. Tracy McGrady added 15 points and 12 assists in his first game back from a sprained right elbow that kept him out a week.
Hawks 82, Heat 79
MIAMI (AP) – Josh Smith blocked Dwyane Wade’s potentially game-tying layup with 3.9 seconds left, Joe Johnson scored 22 points and Atlanta rallied a 10-point deficit entering the final quarter.
It was Atlanta’s first win in its past 18 road games, dating back to last season. Naturally, it came in Miami – where the Heat have lost eight straight.
Smith had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Marvin Williams scored 13 points and added 10 rebounds and Josh Childress added 11 for Atlanta.
Shaquille O’Neal had 18 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks – his most in nearly three years – for Miami.
Bucks 110, Lakers 103
MILWAUKEE (AP) – Michael Redd scored 26 points and helped hold Kobe Bryant in check as Milwaukee beat Los Angeles for its fourth straight victory.
The Bucks held Bryant to a relatively quiet 27 points on 6-of-16 shooting – including only six points as Bryant shot 1-for-5 in the fourth quarter.
Pacers 105, Hornets 93
NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Troy Murphy made up for the absence of Jermaine O’Neal with 23 points, leading Indiana over New Orleans.
Jamaal Tinsley added 18 points and 13 assists, while Danny Granger scored 22 points and Mike Dunleavy had 18. Greg Foster grabbed 13 rebounds for the Pacers, who have won two of three after dropping seven of their previous eight games.
David West scored 23 points for the Hornets, who played without injured center Tyson Chandler. Peja Stojakovic had a strong first quarter en route to 17 points, while Melvin Ely chipped in 11.
Raptors 95, Grizzlies 89
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Chris Bosh had 22 points and 19 rebounds, and Toronto overcame a poor shooting performance to beat Memphis.
Jason Kapono added 14 points, while Andrea Bargnani and Carlos Delfino scored 13 apiece. Bargnani also had 11 rebounds.
The Raptors snapped a two-game losing streak despite shooting 39 percent. Bargnani finished 5-of-16 from the field, while Jose Calderon, who had 10 points and eight assists, was 4-of-13.
Mike Miller and Pau Gasol each had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Memphis, while Rudy Gay scored 15 points.
