The defending champion Florida Gators have earned the right to be favored to win the 2010 BCS National Championship after beating Heisman Trophy candidate Sam Bradford and the high-powered Oklahoma Sooner offense 24-14 in the title game last year.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have established Florida as the opening favorite to win the 2010 BCS National Championship at 2/1 odds. Oklahoma is 9/2, while its fellow Big 12 rival Texas is 13/2 to win. The USC Trojans also have short odds to win at 6/1.

Even though Tim Tebow returns under center and their defense is once again expected to be outstanding, the Gators could have a tough time repeating as champions with teams like Alabama (16/1), LSU (20/1) and Ole’ Miss once expected to be competitive in the SEC this season.

The Long Horns and Sooners are once again expected to be the cream of the crop in the Big 12, as long as Bradford and Colt McCoy stay healthy that is. Texas Tech (65/1) will always be a tough game with its offensive firepower, but the Red Raiders lost two significant pieces of last year’s team in quarterback Graham Harrell and receiver Michael Crabtree.

In the Big 10, the Ohio State Buckeyes (10/1) are once again expected to run away with things with phenom sophomore quarterback Terrelle Pryor returning under center. But nobody would be surprised if Penn State (40/1) once again challenged OSU for the Big 10 title and Iowa (70/1) is a potential sleeper.

For complete odds to win on the 2010 BCS National Championship, including intriguging long shots Tennessee (60/1), Nebraska (45/1) and Oregon (35/1), see below.
