ACC Championship Pick
Will North Carolina be able to stop Virginia’s ACC dominance when the two meet in the ACC Championship tonight at 8:30PM ET? Here’s our prediction for the contest.
539 North Carolina +4.5 vs. 540 Virginia
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Virginia is the slight favorite in this game, as the Cavaliers are getting odds of -4.5 points against North Carolina. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 128 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and will air live on ESPN at 8:30PM ET?
North Carolina is coming off an emotional win over its rival, Duke, last night. The Tar Heels have defeated the Blue Devils, Miami and Syracuse this week while covering in all three games. UNC is 25-9 overall, 7-1 on a neutral floor and 19-13-1 against the spread. The Tar Heels are putting up 82.5 points per game on offense while allowing 73.2 per game. Joel Berry II is putting up 17.1 points and 3.3 assists per game for the Heels while Luke Maye is adding 17.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest.
Virginia is on a 7-game win streak, including wins over Louisville and Clemson this week. However, the Cavaliers are just 1-3 against the spread in their last four games. UVA is now 30-2 overall, 4-0 on a neutral floor and 19-9-1 against the spread. The Cavaliers are putting up 67.4 points per game this season while allowing just 53.1 per contest. Kyle Guy is leading UVA with 14.1 points per game while Devon Hall is averaging 11.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per contest.
Bet on College Basketball for Saturday, March 10, 2018
Virginia has won its last two meetings with North Carolina, including the lone meeting this season. That was a 61-49 win over North Carolina at home back on Jan. 6. While UNC has looked like the better team this week, but the Tar Heels have played more games and are coming off an high-emotion game with Duke. It is going to be hard for the Heels to match that effort tonight against Virginia. The Cavs haven’t had that same level of emotional usage this week and should be up for tonight’s game. I think UVA is a real matchup problem for the Heels, who won’t be able to use their athleticism to get out in transition. The public betting is backing Virginia and I agree.
