ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame 1/27/18

ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame 1/27/18 ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame 1/27/18

Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame Pick

Which ACC team will pick up a needed win when Notre Dame and Virginia Tech collide tonight at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Notre Dame is favored at home, as the Fighting Irish are getting odds of -3.5 points against Virginia Tech. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 145.5 points. Tonight’s game is slated to take place from Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Indiana and will air live on ESPN2.

Virginia Tech is coming off a big 80-69 win at home over North Carolina despite being a 3.5-point underdog. The Hokies are 14-6 overall, 3-4 in the ACC and 9-7 against the spread. Tech is averaging 85.4 points per game on offense while allowing 72.8 per game. Ahmed Hill is leading Virginia Tech with 14.9 points per game while Kerry Blackshear Jr. is adding 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest.

Notre Dame has lost four straight coming into tonight’s game, including a 67-58 loss at Clemson last weekend. The Irish are now 13-7 overall, 3-4 in the ACC and 7-9 against the spread. ND is averaging 76.4 points per game this season while allowing 65.7 per contest. Already without Bonzie Colson, the Irish will be without Matt Farrell for a few games as well due to an ankle injury. Colson and Farrell combine for 37 points per game. TJ Gibbs is now the current team leader with 14.9 points per game.

Bet on Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame

Notre Dame has won seven straight meetings with Virginia Tech, going 5-2 against the spread in those seven games. However, I don’t feel good about the Irish. It is hard for any team to lose its top two players and expect to win. Tech is coming off a nice win at home over UNC and the Hokies know they need this road win to improve their hopes at an NCAA Tournament bid. The public betting is siding with Notre Dame at home, but I will take the Hokies and the points.
