Wednesday’s ACC Predictions
Tonight’s ACC schedule features a number of top-25 contests. Here’s our suggested predictions for Wednesday’s games.
Georgia Tech at No. 1 Virginia, 7PM ET (ESPN2)
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Virginia is heavily favored in this game, as the Cavaliers are getting odds of -17.5 points against Georgia Tech. That is a very big spread for a UVA team that keeps games low scoring. The Cavs did pick up a 64-48 win at Tech on Jan. 18 and the Jackets are really in a funk right now. They have lost and failed to cover in five straight. Their last two losses have been by at least 17. Tech seems distracted with their head coach dealing with some off-the-court allegations. Virginia has been strong at the betting window all year, so I will take my chances with them dominating this game and handing Tech another big loss. ACC PREDICTIONS: VIRGINIA -17.5
Bet on Georgia Tech vs. Virginia
No. 15 Clemson at Virginia Tech, 7PM ET (ACC Network)
Oddsmakers like Virginia Tech at home tonight, as the Hokies are getting odds of -4 points against Clemson. Tech has won three straight against Clemson and is 6-2-1 against the spread in the last nine meetings. Clemson hasn’t been a team to trust on the road, going 4-4 straight up and 3-5 against the spread. The Tigers also give up 7 more points per game on the road, which will be a problem against this VT team that averaged 86.6 per game at home. The Hokies can also play some defense. I think their offense will pose the biggest problem tonight, as Clemson won’t be able to keep pace on the road. ACC PREDICTIONS: VIRGINIA TECH -4

Louisville at No. 5 Duke, 9PM ET (ESPN)
The Oddsmakers like Duke tonight at home, as the Blue Devils are getting odds of -11 points against the Cardinals. The public betting is slightly with Duke, as the Blue Devils are getting 58 percent of the wagers. Duke has looked good in its last three, winning and covering in all of them, winning by at least 11 points. Marvin Bagley III could be out again tonight due to his knee injury, but it hasn’t kept Duke from covering in recent games. Louisville is an impressive 5-2 against the spread on the road this season, but Duke just has too much talent for this Louisville team. If the Blue Devils are focused, they should run the Cardinals out the building. ACC PREDICTIONS: DUKE -11
