ACC Tournament Predictions: Who will cover on Wednesday, March 7, 2018?

Wednesday’s ACC Tournament Picks

The ACC Tournament is on to its second round today. Here’s our predictions for the four games taking place on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

*Note we will update the picks with remaining games once odds are released for them.

575 Louisville +1 vs. 576 Florida State, Noon ET (ESPN)

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Florida State finds itself as the slight favorite in this game, as a 1-point favorite. The Seminoles are the No. 8 seed in the tournament while Louisville sits at No. 9. The road team actually won and covered in both meetings this season, and the two each picked up a four-point victory. The two are on a little different paths right now. Louisville has lost four of its last five while FSU has won three of its last five. I feel better about FSU’s potential. The Seminoles have a stronger offense and can actually play some good defense when they put the effort in. I think Florida State wins this matchup more than it doesn’t if they played 10 times. ACC PREDICTIONS: 576 FLORIDA STATE -1

Bet on ACC for Wednesday, March 7, 2018

577 Boston College +3 vs. 578 N.C. State, 2PM ET (ESPN)

Boston College is coming off an 87-77 win over Georgia Tech yesterday to reach this game, but the Eagles don’t have much time to regroup to face an N.C. State team that is the fifth seed this week and listed as a 3-point favorite for this game. The Wolfpack dominated the first matchup, 82-66, at home back on Feb. 20 and I expect more of the same. N.C. State is actually somewhat hot right now, winning and covering in five of its last six. BC has lost three straight away from home and it doesn’t have the same offensive firepower as N.C. State. ACC PREDICTIONS: 578 N.C. STATE -3

Matchup histories for Wednesday, March 7, 2018

579 Notre Dame -2.5 vs. 580 Virginia Tech, 7PM ET (ESPN2)

Notre Dame is the 10th seed this week and coming off a 67-64 win over Pittsburgh yesterday, but the Irish have some hopes for this week due to Bonzie Colson returning from his lengthy injury. The Irish have won three of their last four and now are a favorite against Tech, despite Tech being the seventh seed. Virginia Tech won at Notre Dame, 80-75, back on Jan. 27. However, the Irish were without Colson. People want to get behind the Irish right now, but they are ignoring a Virginia Tech team that is playing pretty well. The Hokies have won five of their last eight and are 6-2 ATS in that span. ND still has a lot of chemistry to develop with Colson back and that showed against Pitt on Tuesday, just a 3-point win as a 17-point favorite. I will take the Hokies with some points. ACC PREDICTIONS: 580 VIRGINIA TECH +2.5

Who is the public betting on tonight?

581 Syracuse +7.5 vs. 582 North Carolina, 9PM ET (ESPN2)

Oddsmakers are listing UNC as a 7.5-point favorite for tonight’s primetime game. The Tar Heels won the only meeting at Syracuse, 78-74. The Orange did cover a 4.5-point spread in the loss. UNC has looked shaky, failing to cover in three straight while Cuse has won and covered in its last two. The Orange looked good last night with a 9-point win over Wake Forest. I think their defense can cause some more problems for UNC, which is coming off a very poor second half against Duke. The Heels aren’t a team you can count on to cover a big spread right now, so give me Syracuse and the points. ACC PREDICTIONS: 581 SYRACUSE +7.5
