Alabama vs. Kentucky Predictions: The Total You Should Bet Saturday 2/17/18

One SEC Total to Bet Saturday

Here’s why if you’re betting one total on Saturday, it should be in today’s 2:00 p.m. ET tip-off between Alabama and Kentucky.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Wildcats are now 3.5-point home favorites to beat the Crimson Tide after jumping to -4 early this morning. As for the total, the number hit the board at 141.5 but was bet down to 141.

Public bettors are backing the struggling Wildcats in this matchup, with 60% of the betting tickets listed on Kentucky to cover the spread. That said, only 53% of the money wagered at online sportsbooks is on the Wildcats, so there could be some wiseguy action on the road dog.

Here’s why you should play the total in this game. Alabama has been a monster under team of late, covering the under in five straight road games and in 37 of their last 55 games overall. The under is also 5-0 in Alabama’s last five road games when playing an opponent with a winning home record, is 7-0 in its last seven Saturday games and is 6-1 in its last seven games coming off a win.

On the other side, the over is 9-3 in the Wildcats’ last 12 home games but the under has cashed in 14 of their last 20 conference matchups. The under is also 5-2 in their last seven games coming off an ATS loss.

Kentucky has frustrated plenty of bettors this season with its inconsistent play. While long and athletic, the Wildcats are not very efficient and can go for long stretches of poor production on offense.
