Arizona-ASU Line Jumps the Fence
Tip-off for tonight’s Pac-12 matchup between Arizona and in-state rival Arizona State isn’t until 9:00 p.m. ET but the line has already jumped the fence.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Sun Devils opened as 1-point home favorites for tonight’s rivalry game. Early Thursday morning, oddsmakers adjusted the line to a pick’em and now the Wildcats are a 1-point favorite at several online sportsbooks.
Bet Tonight’s Arizona vs. Arizona State Matchup
Arizona State has three players out for the year: Carlton Bragg (personal), Ramon Vila (personal), and Zylan Cheatham (eligibility), but all three players have been out since at least January. (Vila and Cheatham have been out since November.) Thus, the line movement has nothing to do with an injury ahead of tonight’s game.
Public bettors are hopping on Arizona early, as the Wildcats are garnering 56% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks. That said, that’s not a significant enough number to force oddsmakers to adjust the line. Chances are wiseguys hit Arizona multiple times this morning, which ultimately forced oddsmakers to move quickly on the spread.
Granted, things could change throughout the day. Make sure you’re tracking line movement for not only this game, but all of Thursday’s slate in college basketball at our NCAA Men’s College Basketball Odds Page.
The Wildcats are going for their sixth straight victory against the Sun Devils. They are 3-0-2 against the spread in their last five games against Arizona State but the home team is 6-2-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and Arizona is just 3-8 at the betting window in its last 11 games overall.
