Arizona Wildcats Game Notes

Wildcats guard Caleb Love was extraordinary in his team’s 86-80 win over Texas Tech on Friday. The senior from St. Louis put up 27 points, 5 rebounds, and an assist in 32 minutes of game action. Love shot 10 of 15 from the floor and 5 of 8 from downtown in the victory.

Arizona guard KJ Lewis provided a spark off the bench against the Red Raiders on Friday. In 30 minutes the 6’4” sophomore recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Lewis is third on the team in scoring this season with 10.8 points per game.

Houston Cougars Game Notes

Cougars forward J’Wan Roberts missed the team’s 74-54 win over BYU on Friday due to an ankle injury. Roberts is officially listed as questionable to play against Arizona on Saturday with said injury. The 6’8” senior is averaging 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 50.2% from the field this year.

Cougars guard Emanuel Sharp was electric in his team’s 74-54 win over BYU on Friday. The junior from Tampa, FL recorded 26 points, 4 rebounds, a steal, and 5 made three-pointers across 34 minutes. Sharp is second on the team in scoring with 12.0 points per game on the campaign.

Arizona is 3-2 ATS in their last 5 games against Houston.

The Wildcats are 11-6 ATS when playing an opponent on equal rest this season.

Houston is 2-4-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Houston is 1-5 ATS in neutral-site games this season.

Arizona vs. Houston CBB Prediction:

Arizona can cover this game. The first big reason is the injury to Houston forward J’Wan Roberts. Roberts is the Cougars’ leading rebounder this season and a fifth-year senior. If he’s unable to play, that will likely significantly impact the outcome of this game.

The other reasons that the Wildcats can cover this contest are based on the numbers. Arizona is 5-3 ATS when facing ranked opponents and 12-10 ATS in conference games this season. What’s more, since Tommy Lloyd became the team’s head coach in 2021, the Wildcats are 6-2-1 ATS in conference tournament games and 47-41-2 ATS in conference games. Arizona already avenged losses to Kansas and Texas Tech earlier in the Big 12 Tournament. I think they pull off a similar feat (or come close) against Houston on Saturday night. I’m taking Arizona +7.5 points over Houston on Bovada.lv.

Arizona vs. Houston CBB Prediction: ARIZONA WILDCATS +7.5
