Big 12 Championship Prediction

Who will emerge with the Big 12 Tournament Championship on Saturday, March 10, 2018? Here’s our prediction for West Virginia vs. Kansas.

531 West Virginia +1 vs. 532 Kansas

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Kansas is listed as the slight favorite in this game, as the Jayhawks are getting odds of -1 point against West Virginia. The over/under total for the game is listed at 154 points. Tonight’s game takes place at 6PM ET from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri and will air live on ESPN.

Kansas has picked up wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas State this week, winning both by double digits to cover the spread in both contests. The Jayhawks are 26-7 overall, 4-1 on a neutral floor and 17-14-1 against the spread. Kansas is now averaging 81.5 points per game on offense while allowing 71 per game on defense. Deonvte’ Graham is averaging 17.3 points and 7.3 assists per game to lead Kansas. Udoka Azubuike is adding 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Azubuike is out indefinitely for a knee injury.

West Virginia has defeated Baylor and Texas Tech this weekend to get to the final. The Mountaineers also covered the spread in both wins. WVU is 24-9 overall, 5-1 on a neutral floor and 15-14 against the spread. The Mountaineers are putting up 79.9 points per game on offense while allowing 68.6 per game on defense. Jevon Carter has been leading the team all season with 17 points, 4.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.9 steals per game. Sagaba Konate is adding 10.5 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.

Bet on College Basketball for Saturday, March 10, 2018

Kansas has won both meetings with West Virginia this season, covering in both cases. They won 71-66 at WVU and 77-69 at home. The Kansas defense has been the story in both of these games, holding a talented West Virginia team under 70 points in each instance. Kansas has been hard to trust throughout the season, but the Jayhawks have looked really good this week. The Jayhawks are allowing just 66 points per game on a neutral floor and I think that defense will hold up again today against West Virginia. The public betting is siding with Kansas as well tonight.
