Kansas State vs. Texas Tech Pick

Is No. 18 Texas Tech set to pick up another Big 12 win on Saturday when the Red Raiders host Kansas State at 4PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Texas Tech is favored at home, as the Red Raiders are getting odds of -9.5 points against Kansas State. The over/under total for the game is listed at 137.5 points. Today’s game takes place from the United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas.

Kansas State is coming off a 77-69 loss at home to West Virginia to snap a three-game win streak. Kansas State is 11-3 overall, 1-1 in the Big 12 and just 3-8 against the spread. Kansas State is putting up 77.2 points per game this season while allowing 64.2 per game on defense. The Wildcats are being led by Dean Wade, who is averaging 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Barry Brown is adding 14.9 points per game as well.

Texas Tech is one of the hotter teams in the nation right now. The Red Raiders have won seven straight, including an 85-73 win at Kansas earlier this week. Tech is now 13-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten. They are also 7-3 against the spread on the year and have covered in three straight lined games. Tech is averaging 81.6 points per game this season while holding opponents to just 59.3 per contest. Keenan Evans is averaging 16.5 points per game to lead the Red Raiders while Zhaire Smith and Jarrett Culver each score 10.5 points per game.

Bet on Kansas State vs. Texas Tech

Kansas State has won seven of its last 10 meetings with Texas Tech and the Wildcats have covered in three of the last four meetings. Texas Tech is coming off a huge win on the road, but will that lead to an emotional letdown today against a lesser opponent? I don’t think so. Kansas State hasn’t shown a consistent ability to rise to the occasion when it comes to covering. I think Texas Tech will have too much defense for K-State to deal with. The public betting is backing Kansas State on the road, but I will go with the Red Raiders to stay hot.
