The Big 12 Tournament is a 10-team, single-elimination tournament with the bottom four seeds opening play on Wednesday with a pair of games and the top six seeds automatically on to the quarterfinals on Thursday. The tournament takes place from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, 14060 Kansas is the favorite to win this tournament, as it has 2/1 odds. Other short odds to win are 14062 West Virginia (3/1), 14061 Texas Tech (4/1) and 14064 TCU (7/1).
Bet on the Big 12 Conference Tournament
Kansas is the top seed in the tournament after going 13-5 this season in the Big 12. The Jayhawks are 24-7 overall. Kansas has won this tournament more than anyone, with 10 victories.
West Virginia is the third seed in the tournament. The Mountaineers were 11-7 in conference play and 22-9 overall. WVU has never won this tournament, losing in the finals twice.
Texas Tech is the second seed of the tournament after going 11-7 in the Big 12. They posted a 23-8 record overall. The Red Raiders have never won this tournament and appeared in the finals just one time.
TCU is the fifth seed in the Big 12 after going 9-9 in conference play. The Horned Frogs were 21-10 overall. TCU has yet to even make the tournament finals in the Big 12.
The Big 12 has truly been unpredictable all season. No team is showing consistency to string wins together. While Kansas may be the best team on paper, the Jayhawks have still lost five conference games this year. However, no team comes in with any real momentum and Kansas has the most experience at winning on a neutral floor. WVU, Tech and TCU have never won this event. While I can see Kansas slipping up, I don’t have enough confidence in any other team to win three straight games.
