Big East Tournament Predictions
The Big East Conference Tournament is filled with some top-ranked teams contending for the championship. Here’s our predictions for this week’s winner.
The Big East Tournament is a 10-team, single-elimination tournament with the bottom four seeds opening play on Wednesday with a pair of games and the top six seeds automatically on to the quarterfinals on Thursday. The tournament takes place from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, 14070 Villanova is the favorite in this tournament, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -120 to win. Other short odds to win are 14071 Xavier (+230) and 14072 Butler (+700).
Bet on the Big East Conference Tournament
Villanova is the second seed in this tournament after going 14-4 in Big East play. The Wildcats are 27-4 overall. Nova has won this tournament three times and is the defending champion.
Xavier is the top seed this week thanks to a 15-3 record in the Big East. The Musketeers are 27-4 overall. Xavier has never won this tournament as of yet.
Butler is the sixth seed today after going 9-9 in conference play. The Bulldogs are 19-12 overall. Butler is seeking to win the Big East Tournament for the first time.
Xavier has looked great this year, but the Musketeers couldn’t beat Villanova. The Wildcats won both meetings this season by double digits. If you are looking for a potential upset in this tournament, Providence has 16/1 odds and they have over the top seeds like Villanova, Xavier, Butler and Creighton. However, the Friars have struggled to string wins together. Ultimately I like Nova to make the run happen as it has the most talent and is a matchup nightmare for Xavier, the only other consistent team in the field.
