Saturday’s Big Ten Predictions

The 2018 Big Ten Tournament is on to the semifinals. Here’s our predictions for the games on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

635 Michigan vs. 636 Michigan State, 2PM ET (CBS)

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Michigan State is favored in this game, as the Spartans are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Wolverines. MSU is the top seed in the tournament while Michigan is the fifth seed. Michigan won the first meeting between these two, at Michigan State, 82-72 on Jan. 13. The Wolverines were able to dominate in the paint while MSU continued to struggle with turnovers. The Spartans have a history of playing down to competition, but still grinding out wins for the most part. Given the loss to Michigan, I think MSU will be up for this game. However, it’s continual problems with turnovers and the inability to get to the basket in its half-court offense will keep this game tight. BIG TEN PREDICTIONS: 635 MICHIGAN +3.5

Bet on College Basketball for Saturday, March 3, 2018

637 Penn State vs. 638 Purdue, 4:30PM ET (CBS)

Oddsmakers have the third-seeded Boilermakers as a 7.5-point favorite against seventh-seeded Penn State. The Nittany Lions upset Ohio State for the third time this season on Friday, now faces a Purdue team it only lost by three to on the road back on Feb. 18. Penn State has been really tough against the best teams in the Big Ten, going 5-0 against the spread vs. Ohio State, Purdue and Michigan State. I expect the Nittany Lions to have another competitive game with Purdue, which is just 1-8-1 against the spread in its last 10 games. BIG TEN PREDICTIONS: 637 PENN STATE +7.5
