Wednesday’s Big Ten Picks
The Big Ten has a pair of competitive games on the schedule for Wednesday night. Here’s our picks for these two games.
No. 17 Michigan at Penn State, 7PM ET (Big Ten Network)
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Penn State is the slight favorite at home tonight, as the Nittany Lions are getting odds of -2.5 points against Michigan. Penn State has been one of the hotter teams in the Big Ten, going 6-2 in their last eight with the losses coming at Purdue and Michigan State by single digits. Michigan is coming off a big win over Ohio State at home, but the Wolverines are 5-4 ATS on the road. Michigan struggles with consistency at times and I fear it will have a letdown performance after rolling over the Buckeyes. Penn State has covered in its last two after a loss and their defense is giving up just 62.2 per game at home. I am going to take my chances on the Nittany Lions tonight. Bet on Michigan vs. Penn State
Iowa at Minnesota, 9PM ET (Big Ten Network)
Two of the Big Ten’s worst meet up tonight and the oddsmakers have Minnesota as a 3-point favorite against the Hawkeyes. Both teams come into tonight at 3-13 in the Big Ten. Iowa earned a 94-80 win at home on Jan. 30, but the Hawkeyes are only 1-9 on the road this season and 1-8-1 against the spread. Minnesota has dealt with injuries throughout the season, but the Gophers have a chance to pick up a rare win and do it on their home floor tonight. Iowa is allowing 84.4 per game on the road, which should help the Gophers get a boost in offense tonight. The Hawkeyes just don’t have the talent to overcome their road issues. While Minnesota isn’t a team to trust, I trust almost any home team over Iowa on the road. BIG TEN PREDICTIONS: MINNESOTA -3
