Butler vs. Providence 3/10/16 Big East Tournament Picks & Predictions

Butler vs. Providence Prediction

After sweeping Butler twice this year, will Providence advance in the Big East Tournament when the conference rivals square off today at 2:30PM ET.

Ed Cooley’s Friars are currently 3.5-point underdogs versus the Bulldogs while the over/under is sitting at 146 points according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv.

Providence struggled in February while enduring a 1-5 stretch before winning its final three regular-season games to presumably cement an at large-bid in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

Ben Bentil lead the Big East in scoring this season with 22.9 points in league play and averaged 26 points during the team’s winning streak. Two-time conference player of the year Kris Dunn has also shaken off a slump after an illness and Jalen Lindsey is coming off a career-high 30 points in Saturday’s 90-76 win over St. John’s.

Just over 50% of bettors favor Butler to cover vs. Providence

Butler has failed to cover in five of the last six meetings between these two teams and lost to Providence twice already this season. The Friars are an impressive 11-2 against the spread in their last 13 neutral site games and if bettors bet Providence up a half point they’ll get tremendous value in today’s matchup.
