Kentucky vs. Ole Miss Pick

Following a loss, will No. 8 Kentucky take out its frustrations on Ole Miss when the two meet in SEC action tonight at 8PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kentucky is favored on the road, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -10.5 points against the Rebels. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 164.5 points. Kentucky has won seven straight in this series and the Wildcats have covered the spread in four of the last five meetings.

Bet on Kentucky vs. Ole Miss

Kentucky has had over a week off since suffered a 73-70 loss at Louisville to drop to 10-2 on the year. The Wildcats have covered in just two of their last three games to move to 8-4 against the spread this year. Kentucky has a very high-powered offense that is averaging 93.1 points per game, while the defense is giving up 71.8 points per game. Malik Monk is putting up 21.4 points per game to lead UK while De’Aaron Fox is averaging 16.3 points and 6.8 assists per contest.

Ole Miss is coming off a 92-58 win over a week ago against South Alabama to improve to 9-3 on the year. The Rebels have covered in four of their last five games to move to 6-6 against the spread this year. Ole Miss is giving up 75.7 points per game on defense while scoring 81.1 points per game. Deandre Burnett is leading Ole Miss with 19.2 points per game while Sebastian Saiz is averaging 15.2 points and 12.1 rebounds per game.

Kentucky is coming off a rare loss, which likely means bad things for the Rebels. After losing to UCLA earlier this season, the Wildcats answered with a 25-point win over Valpo in their next outing. Since 2014, Kentucky is 7-2 against the spread when coming after a loss. I see more of the same today as this team should be motivated to make a statement in its SEC opener.
