CBB Picks: Is South Carolina giving up too many points to Alabama?

South Carolina vs. Alabama Pick

Can No. 19 South Carolina continue its march toward an SEC title when it hosts Alabama tonight at 6:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, South Carolina is favored at home, as the Gamecocks are getting odds of -6.5 points against the Tide. The over/under total is listed at 130 points. The home team has won the last 10 in this series while Alabama is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings.

The Gamecocks are putting up 71.9 points per game while allowing just 61.5 on defense. At home, South Carolina is keeping opponents to 59.8 per game. Sindarius Thornwell has been leading the team with 19.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game while PJ Dozier is adding 14.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

South Carolina has proven it can beat the non-Kentucky teams in the SEC and I think it will do that again tonight. The Tide aren’t a great road team and will struggle against this South Carolina defense. The Gamecocks know they are in position to do something special this season and won’t have a letdown tonight.
