Nebraska vs. Michigan St. Pick

Will Michigan State get the win it desperately needs at home when it welcomes Nebraska to town tonight at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan State is favored at home, as the Spartans are getting odds of -6.5 points against Nebraska. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 136.5 points. Nebraska has won and covered in three of its last four against Michigan State, but the Spartans picked up a 72-61 road win on Feb. 2.

Michigan State is coming off an 80-63 loss at Purdue to fall to 16-11 on the season and 8-6 in the Big Ten. Along with the loss, the Spartans suffered a big injury as senior Eron Harris blew out his knee and will be lost for the season. He was averaging 10.7 points and 3 rebounds per game this season. MSU is 13-13 against the spread on the season and 8-5 ATS at home. The Spartans average 71.4 points per game on offense while allowing 68.9 on defense. At home, MSU is putting up 76.4 points on offense while giving up just 65.3. Miles Bridges has been leading the team with 16.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while Nick Ward is adding 12.9 points and 5.8 boards per contest.

Michigan State is pretty much a team we have figured out. The Spartans beat the average and poor teams, especially at home, but can’t quite crack the elite of the Big Ten. Nebraska is certainly not amongst the elite and this trip to East Lansing should be a problem for it. MSU is a tough team to beat in East Lansing, and even with the loss of Harris, I expect Bridges and Ward to step up and lead MSU to a cover.
