Clemson vs. Louisville Pick
Will No. 12 Louisville add another big loss to Clemson’s current losing streak? Here’s our thoughts on today’s 9PM ET contest.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Louisville is favored at home in this one, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -7 points against the Tigers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 137.5 points. The home team has won three straight in this series, but Clemson has covered the spread in the last two meetings.
Clemson seemed to have some good things going for it entering ACC play, but the Tigers have lost four straight top fall to 11-6 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Clemson has also failed to cover in its last four to fall to 7-8 against the spread on the season. The Tigers average 76.6 points per game on offense while giving up just 67.8 points per contest. However, on the road Clemson is scoring just 67 points per game. Jaron Blossomgame is averaging 18.4 points and 6 rebounds this season to lead Clemson while Avry Holmes is adding 11.3 points per contest.
Louisville has won three straight, including a 78-69 win over Duke, to get to 15-3 on the season and 3-2 in the ACC. The Cardinals are 11-5 against the spread this season and 8-2 against the spread at home. Louisville averages 75.8 points per game on offense while giving up just 62.3 points per game defensively. At home, the Cardinals are averaging 80 points per contest. The team has lost Quentin Snider for a few weeks due to a hip injury. He was averaging 12.1 points and 4 assists per game. Donovan Mitchell is the team leader with 13.6 points and 2.2 steals per game.

Louisville is without Snider, but I still like the Cardinals at home today. They have a defense that should cause a lot of issues for Clemson, especially when you consider the Tigers rely so much on one player offensively. Louisville usually sees an offensive boost at home while Clemson takes a dip in its scoring on the road. Those trends should lead to a Louisville cover.
