Oklahoma vs. Baylor Pick

Coming off another tough loss this weekend, will No. 9 Baylor bounce back tonight when it hosts Oklahoma at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Baylor is favored at home, as the Bears are getting odds of -12.5 points against Oklahoma. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 137 points. Baylor won the first meeting on the road, 76-50, back on Dec. 30. The Bears have covered the spread in three of the last four in this series as well.

Bet on Oklahoma vs. Baylor

Baylor is coming off a 67-65 loss at home to Kansas for its second straight defeat. The Bears are now 22-5 on the season and 9-5 in the Big 12. They have failed to cover in their last two as well and sit at 12-10 against the spread on the season. Baylor has been a pretty good defensive team, allowing just 62.8 points per game while scoring 72.3 per game on offense. When at home, Baylor is allowing just 59.3 points per game. Johnathan Motley is leading the team with 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest. Manu Lecomte is adding 12.9 points and 4 assists per game, but he is battling an ankle injury.

Oklahoma is coming off a 96-92 loss at Oklahoma State this weekend. The Sooners have lost eight of their last nine and are now 9-17 overall and 3-11 in the Big 12. Oklahoma has covered the spread in its last two and are now 11-12-1 against the spread on the season. The Sooners average 74.2 points per game on offense this season while allowing 75.6 on defense. When on the road, Oklahoma is giving up 81.1 points per contest. Jordan Woodward was leading the season with 14.6 points per game, but he is out the rest of the year because of a knee injury. Rashard Odomes and Kameron McGusty are now the team leaders at 10.5 points per game.

Oklahoma doesn’t have the roster to compete regularly in the Big 12 right now. Losing Woodward was a big blow. While they have covered in three of their last five on the road, I don’t see that happening against a Baylor team that is coming in wounded by the home loss to Kansas. The Bears should be eager to bounce back in a big way after letting that game slip away. Baylor’s defense will limit this Oklahoma offense, while the Bears should see a surge on offense against the poor Sooners defense.
