PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION

As of Saturday morning, the public betting is backing Central Michigan today. The Chippewas are getting 69 percent of the wagers as a slight underdog against Liberty this afternoon.

KEY INJURIES

Central Michigan has nobody listed on the injury report for today’s game. Liberty has guard Ryan Kemrite (back) and Lovell Cabbil (leg) both listed as questionable to play. Cabbil averages 11.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while Kemrite averages 10 points per contest.

BETTING STRATEGIES

Central Michigan has been off eight days since beating Wofford in the second round of the tournament. The Chippewas have beaten IPFW (94-89) and Wofford (98-94) on the road in their two CIT games. They covered the spread in both, as they were an underdog both times. CMU is now 18-11 against the spread this season and 11-6 ATS away from home. The Chippewas are scoring 76.9 points per game on offense while allowing 74.6 per contest.

Liberty hasn’t played in 12 days since it started its CIT Tournament with a 65-52 win over North Carolina A&T, 65-52. The Flames were a 12-point favorite in the contest. Liberty is 5-4 against the spread and 2-1 ATS at home. The Flames average just 69 points per game on offense while holding opponents to 65.1 per game.

The long layoff for both teams could lead to some rusty play early, but I think Central Michigan can pick up another road win today. The Chippewas have the ability to put up a big number on offense if they can control tempo. They shot nearly 50 percent in their first two CIT games. Liberty doesn’t have the ability to keep pace on offense if CMU shoots the ball well.
