Clemson vs. Virginia College Basketball Predictions Against The Spread

ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech 1/3/18 ACC College Basketball Predictions: Virginia vs. Virginia Tech 1/3/18

Clemson vs. Virginia Pick

Will No. 2 Virginia continue its dominance in the ACC tonight when the Cavaliers play host to No. 18 Clemson at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Virginia is the favorite in this game, as the Cavaliers are getting odds of -9.5 points against Clemson. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 120.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia and will air live on the ACC Network.

Virginia has won 10 straight games coming into tonight’s contest and the Cavaliers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games. UVA is 18-1 on the season, 7-0 in the ACC and 12-4 against the spread. Virginia averages 69.6 points per game on offense while allowing 52.4 per contest. The Cavaliers are being led by Kyle Guy, who is averaging 15.3 points per game this season. Devon Hall is averaging 12.6 points per contest.

Clemson is coming off a 67-58 win over Notre Dame this past weekend, but the Tigers are just 2-2 in their last four and 2-4 against the spread in their last six games. The Tigers are 16-3 overall, 5-2 in the ACC and 10-6 against the spread. Clemson is averaging 77 points per game on offense while allowing 65.2 per contest. On the road, The Tigers are giving up 75 points per game. Clemson suffered a big loss this weekend as Donte Grantham is out for the season with a knee injury. He was averaging 14.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Marcquise Reed is leading the team with 16 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest.

Bet on Clemson vs. Virginia

Virginia has won six straight meetings with Clemson, covering the spread in three of the last four encounters as well. The Cavs look as good as they ever have lately, covering in five of their last six while winning eight of their last 10 by at least 10 points. Clemson is going to be hurting without Grantham in the mix, especially tonight. UVA is one of the best defensive teams in the nation and losing that kind of scoring production will be hard to replace against the Cavs. The public betting is behind UVA, and I think Virginia will cover as well.
